The weekend means more than just lazing about the house and not working. Ever have those times where you’re racking your brains all week on what to wear for that special date over the weekend? Or you might be heading out on the town with the lads or even a family get together. Whatever the occasion, there’s no excuse for lack of style, so when Ted Baker gave us a shout to style up and be in their latest #ReclaimYourWeekend campaign we rose to the challenge.

Styling up Ted Baker’s latest range of AW18 footwear was no easy task as we challenged ourselves to think of looks that would accommodate us from day to night. Tip number one; less is more. If you’re one of those guys that can’t layer for your life, then styling up a plain tee or oxford shirt with subtle block colours would be your best bet. Navy is our preferred option. Choose plain loose-fit chinos for breathability and a lightweight collared jacket for the statement piece. This would go well with a pair of smart derbys or brogues. but don’t forget to add a bit of personality with some colourful printed socks!

Now if you’re the more flamboyant type, then why not experiment with prints? Wearing a jacket with a big allover print would definitely catch attention. Bad or good; we cannot say, but it’s all about confidence and keeping it simple. We’d still say to keep the base the same with a pair of indigo denim or textured block-coloured chinos paired with a plain tee. Or throw a printed shirt under a jacket to be more discreet.

Whatever path you choose to take, make sure to add your own personal details. Accessorising with woven belts, statement socks and in our case; we always have to top it off with a nice trilby to stand out amongst the crowd.
