This month saw the launch of yet another special collaboration, with British menswear brand Universal Works this time teaming up with the American footwear brand most known for their classic Penny Loafers; G.H. Bass & Co. It comes as no surprise that as UW grows out their expansive collections made up of modern workwear staples that shoes are a natural progression. Which is why the brand always seeks to collaborate with footwear brands creating unique but wearable silhouettes in the process. The collection is made up of two distinct hand-stitched moccasin styles that echo the core design values of both brands; understanding heritage and creating pieces that are contemporary in design for the modern day gent.
The Weejun Wedge Larson is the ultimate summer loafer made up of papaya oscura suede for the classic Penny Loafer upper and melding it to a contemporary EVA Vibram sole and finished with mustard yellow counter-cross stitching on the heel. The other; The Weejun Wedge Tie Reverso; is a lace-up style complete with tassels but in a rich dark chocolate suede that contrasts well with the Mustard yellows in
it’s stitching and leather heel sock on the inside of the shoes. Both are very versatile with the contemporary menswear of today featuring off-white soles and beautiful soft suedes that can be styled with a nice mix of tonal navy or khaki hues as seen in the styling in the campaign featuring London-based designer Scott Fraser. Peep the campaign above shot and styled by We Are Outlanders in East London.
