TED-BAKER-PORTRAIT-2

To tell you guys the truth, i’m a creature of comfort. And sometimes… possibly most of the time, it’s easier to dress in one colour and leave the house. I know we’ve all been there. All black is most probably the easiest option when you can’t be arsed to sit and think about what contrasts with what. etc. But all hope is not lost! With a few minor tweaks, you can make those boring one-coloured outfits just a little bit more interesting.

For me, it’s in the prints and simply accessorising. If you buy things like socks and t-shirts that feature prints in the same colour, they could easily be incorporated into those daily staples. It’s subtle but not overpowering. Check below for an example where i’ve taken a monochromatic all black look and just added a printed tee with bits of khaki on it as well as a printed bandana and striped socks with a hint of purple. People won’t notice it at first, but when they do, it’ll be an ‘ooh that’s interesting!’ moment.

Otherwise, you could always add rings, necklaces or smaller bags to uplift the overall look without looking too heavy. Above i used just a woven leather belt, some silver details and a grey trilby to match with the trainers. Now, i’d like to know what you guys do to amplify a simple outfit? Sound off below!   –  J
