PRETTY GREEN X KATIE EARY SS18 COLLECTION

For the SS18 season, Pretty Green and British Designer Katie Eary join forces for a print-heavy 16-piece capsule collection, perfect for the summer months to come. The product offering consists of British staples such as parkas, bucket hats, polos, shirts and even swim shorts in two exclusive prints.

‘When the opportunity to collaborate with Katie Eary arose, it was one that felt like a great fit as there were many creative visions shared by both brands’ explains Pretty Green Design Director Pat Salter, ‘prints are intrinsic with both Pretty Green and Katie Eary and therefore the exploration of both brands DNA resulted in a very natural collaboration.’

Creating her own version of some existing Pretty Green prints, Eary was able to transform the paisley using inspiration from Irvine Welsh’s book Acid House and incorporating animals and insects. The repeat prints feature blue bottle flies in green and blue.

The lookbook and video was shot starring break-through Brit indie artist Bakar with Photographer Sophie Jones with Paritzan, that makes for a great blend of rich musicial heritage and championing new up and coming artists on the UK scene. ‘I’m a rock and roll girl at heart’ says Eary, ‘ and I want to work with a company linked to this legendary music status – to do something that felt personal to me. I’ve done the hip hop thing for years in my collections and I wanted to work on something that took me back to my roots and excited me.’ Not that the collection is just for rock and roll indie types, explains Eary; ‘It’s a state of mind rather than an aesthetic.’
