PARKA LONDON SS17

PARKA SS17

Since 2013 Parka London have been pioneers of modern outerwear.  Fiona Mills’ Reinvention of the first Snorkel and Fishtail parka’s have brought classic outerwear design back into the 00’s as staples for everyday fashion and  functional use.

Her SS17 collection ‘come rain or shine,’ brings a colour pallet we are accustomed to when talking about outerwear.  Light blues, khaki’s, sand, and a custom bespoke print using fresh contemporary greens, seakelp and pistachio.

The collection is catered to festival season, using premium lightweight materials, that are durable, fashionable, and intrinsic to Parka London’s reputation of mixing functionality with forward fashion.

I love the way that they have styled this collection.  It’s minimal and the garments have to stand out for themselves.  Sprinkled with hints of white across the collection, the garments are easily going to become your Summer Essential layering pieces. From the Jones Mac to the Finlay Parka, you’ll find a piece to suit any style from Sports Lux to Sartorial Workwear.

Although unintentional I believe that the collection lends itself to being Unisex.  I know for certain that I would love to wear some of the stunning womenswear jackets, just as much as I would love to use the strong prints and khaki 90’s field jackets in the menswear collection.

My favourite pieces are focused around the Denim in the womenswear, and the indigo pieces in the menswear collection.  With rounded collars, these workwear inspired garments have hidden pockets and a long list of exciting features that are distinctive to Parka London’s attention to detail.

British outerwear brand Parka London’s SS17 collection is what you need for the festival season with its outerwear classics. Premium lightweight jackets for both men and women ticks all the boxes that you need in an outerwear piece and are here to become the staples of your summer wardrobe with their modern and stylish look.
